What is really inside a connected motorcycle GPS tracker?
A modern motorcycle GPS tracker brings together four building blocks: a Galileo-compatible satellite receiver, a multi-operator mobile modem, motion sensors and an internal backup battery, all driven by a mobile app. It is that combination, rather than the GPS chip alone, that turns a simple dot on a map into a genuine protection system.

How does real-time tracking actually work?
Real-time tracking rests on a continuous flow between the unit and your screens: the tracker calculates its position via Galileo with accuracy down to less than a metre, then transmits it over the mobile network, up to 10 times per second through a bend and every 5 seconds in a straight line. A conventional GPS beacon, by contrast, merely sends one position every 5 minutes.

What are all these on-board sensors for?
The sensors turn the tracker into a complete alert system: they detect a suspicious vibration, movement without a jolt, the repeated shaking typical of a theft in progress, a zone exit, or the power supply being disconnected. Every alert can reach you through four configurable channels: push notification, phone call, email, and the iOS critical notification that rings at full volume even in Do Not Disturb mode.
Those same sensors also watch over the rider. If you crash while riding and do not respond, the emergency services are called automatically in under 2 minutes, and to the right place: the tunnel operations team if you are in a tunnel, the motorway control centre on a motorway, the fire and ambulance services elsewhere. The system works independently of your phone, even if it is switched off or broken in the crash. A fall while parked (a side stand giving way, a gust of wind) triggers a simple notification, without calling out the emergency services for nothing.
Around the unit, the GeoRide 3s Live accessories extend the protection network. Live Wheel monitors tyre pressure and temperature in real time and warns you of a puncture. Why does that responsiveness change everything against theft?

What becomes of the technology underground or without network coverage?
Protection does not stop where the signal stops. GPS works as far as the entrance to an underground car park, which is a physical limit of satellite positioning. Beyond that, the GeoRide 3s activates underground radar detection: the app scans the surroundings over Bluetooth and guides you precisely to the motorcycle ("getting closer, getting further away"), with or without network coverage. The signal only activates when your authorised phone is nearby, to prevent any interception, and an intelligent system detects jamming attempts.
