GeoRide launches 3D ride replay: relive every ride in three dimensions

One week after the release of the new app, its first major update turns every ride into a satellite-view flyover, from start to finish.

TOULOUSE, FRANCE. GeoRide today announced 3D ride replay, the first major new feature of the new app launched on 9 July. Every ride captured by GeoRide can now be relived in three dimensions: a Play icon on the ride, and the camera takes off.

The replay opens on a 3D relief view over a satellite map, light or dark depending on the user's choice. The camera follows the road, anticipates the bends, sweeps across the landscape: in the mountains, you recognise the passes you climbed that very morning. The distance covered and the ride's data update as the replay plays, a slider lets you go back to the best sections, and the whole thing exports as a video, ready to share on social media.

The update also enriches the ride screen itself. The full elevation profile of the ride can now be read at a glance: elevation gain and loss, highest point, with supporting graphs. Added to that are the weather encountered along the way, the lean angle, the number of bends and the towns crossed.

When the new app came out, many users said how much they missed the ride replay. The team rebuilt it with a higher target: the three-dimensional flyover experience that apps like Strava or Relive have made familiar to cyclists and runners is coming to motorcycling. One difference: nothing to start before setting off. GeoRide captures every ride automatically, and the replay is already there when the motorcycle is parked.

Availability
